A leading Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider needed a way to manage and normalize data coming from multiple EMRs in various formats. The complexity of handling HL7, FHIR, PDFs, and JSONs made it
difficult to maintain consistent workflows and communication across systems. Vorro’s BridgeGate Integration Platform enabled seamless
ingestion and translation of these data types into the provider’s proprietary format, and back into EMR-compatible standards.
Streamlining E-Prescriptions for a Leading DME Provider with Vorro’s BridgeGate

About the Client
A leading Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider across the United States whose products are aimed at streamlining the process of electronically prescribing home and DME solutions.
The Challenge
The customer gets data from multiple EMRs in different formats. They faced the challenge of navigating multiple data types and connectivity protocols that interface with multiple EMRs
Our workflows pull the required data for demographics, encounter details, observations, document ref etc. This data is then pushed into the customer’s application in their proprietary JSON format, which they consume to analyze and process the request. They then write back an HL7 message to the EMR for the order. Vorro is able to manage the entire development and management for the client in a fully-managed environment unlocking the client’s time and effort towards their key business deliverables.
The Solution
The customer receives different data types like HL7, FHIR bundles, PDFs, JSONs, etc from the EMR. BridgeGate ingests the data and converts it into their proprietary format while also ensuring that output format from the customer’s application can be translated back to ensure conformance with EMR standards.
This allows all parties to not change anything in their current ecosystem and helps maintain true interoperability.
The Results
The customer leverages Vorro’s Fully Managed EiPaaS Services, which allows the team to focus on their core capabilities of building their application and leave the data interfacing work to our team which specializes in it. The Vorro team interacts with the client’s partners to ensure the customer’s team do not need to get involved. The full processing audit trail, proactive reporting and alerting features on the BridgeGate portal helps meet the customer’s historical processing audit requirements, ensuring all reporting requirements are met. Going forward, the client has massive plans to penetrate into the EMR market. As they become fully integrated with an EMR, the practice can swiftly order DME products eliminating the need for a separate UI.
